Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy sets out how the Sonosite Users Group (“SUG”) collects personal information from visitors to this website (the “Site”) and in particular those visitors who join our discussion forums, register in How to Buy or who send any email inquiries or requests directly to SUG or SonoSite, Inc.
Information Collection and Use
SUG collects and processes personal information about you including your name, the institution at which you work or are associated with, your email address. We may ask you for this information through the Site, and certain information is collected automatically, as described later in this Privacy Policy.
This information is entered into the appropriate SUG database and we use it to communicate with group members.
We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement, without your permission, unless we are legally entitled or obliged to do so (for example, if required by a Court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime).
Email
Email requests from site visitors are routed to the appropriate department at the SUG Emails requesting SonoSite corporate and/or product information also may be logged onto a database and forwarded to SonoSite's sales representatives or other relevant employees for follow up.
Information about SonoSite products
Where you request further information about SonoSite products, you will be directed to the SonoSite website (www.sonosite.com) If at any time you do not wish to receive these details, then send e-mail message to www.sonositeusers.com
In addition, from time to time, we may share the information you supply to us with selected third parties to enable them to send you information which may be of interest to you. If at any time you do not wish us to share your information in this way, then send e-mail message to www.sonositeusers.com
Tracking Reports
When you visit the Site, SUG automatically logs your IP address. We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Cookies
SUG may store some information (commonly known as a “cookie”) on your computer when you look at the Site. This information facilitates your use of the Site and helps us to provide you with the best level of service. For example, a cookie may be used so that you do not need to re-enter your details every time you visit a Site and may help us to show you advertisements which are relevant to your interests.

In such an event, we will require that any personally identifiable user information provided must be kept confidential and used only as instructed by us. Where that agency is outside the EEA, the provisions above dealing with transfers of information outside the EEA will apply.
Correction/Updating Information

SUG uses industry standard efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personally identifiable information. Unfortunately, it is impossible to absolutely guarantee the security of data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network. Therefore, although we take reasonable measures to protect your information, SUG cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit to us or from online services and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we will use industry standard efforts to ensure its security on our systems.

SUG does provide links to third party websites, and since we do not control those sites, we encourage you to review the privacy policies posted on those third party sites that you visit.
In addition, if you linked to the Site from a third party web site, we cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of the owners or operators of that third party site and recommend that you check the policy of that third party site and contact its owner or operator if you have any concerns or questions.
